My tank is about 40x46 inches or 1840 sq inches.
1840/231 8 gallons per inch of water
about 1/4 cup of washing soda for each 5-gallons of water.
so 1 cup per 20 gallons.
cubic inches of my tank (to the level needed)
40x46x17 = 31280 ci or 135 gallons.
135/20 = 6.75 or lets call it 7 cups
1 cup of washing soda weighs 21 oz.
To convert baking soda to washing soda

For the electrolysis part.. use a big old welding transformer with a stack of diodes and a few big caps to get a stable current!! This way i once have done diy galvanic plating on a classic mini shell in an disused swimming pool... Ohh yeah a little thingie you need a lot!!!
